RMR test |
Fitmate allows the accurate determination of Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR). The test is simple and fast: the subject lies on a bed or relaxes on a couch for 10/15 minutes, while breathing through a comfortable face mask which allows the measurement of oxygen uptake. Fitmate displays results and displays warnings with quality control messages (mask leak detected, inappropriate breathing pattern...). At the end of the test, results are automatically printed by the built-in printer for interpretation. |
Weight management programs |
| The main purpose when measuring RMR is to define a customized weight management program based on individual subject’s metabolism. Fitmate includes a powerful, user friendly feature for elaborating the ideal weight loss program based on the optimal daily caloric intake and level of exercise. Estimation of energy expenditure related to subject’s lifestyle is possible through a questionnaire or direct measurement by means of pedometers and/or activity monitors. |

Body composition analysis |
Body composition is one of the most important assessment to see if training has decreased % body fat and increased lean body mass. Fitmate handles this assessment in two different ways:
• Skin-fold
• Data Input
Skin-fold - Fitmate includes a caliper for measuring skin-fold with a 3 measurement algorithm. By simply entering the data measured Fitmate calculates body percentage and lean body mass automatically. PC software allows to measure body composition with either 3 and 7 sites skin-fold measurements.
Data Input - If you rely on another device for body composition (i.e. BIA, Infrared or DEXA) you may keep on using it and simply enter the value so measured in the proper dialog box of the SW program. This will allow to use existing device and benefit of a consistent way of managing the assessment and by providing reporting to clients in one single format.
